How's The Fishing

I have been doing some kayak fishing in the Keys. Caught a bunch of snapper, some grunts, some jacks. Bunch of small barracuda. Not far enough out for large Dolphin or Grouper but did catch one 4 foot barracuda and one nice Redfish.

I went hand fishing at Apalachicola and got several reds. They were very easy to catch with little skill. Just reached in the cooler and grabbed them, held out the credit card and they wrapped them up and packed them on ice! LOL

Catching lots of Jacks, odd Redfish, large Snook, blue crab and sheepshead on our seawall in Sarasota leading to the Bay. Jetties Nokomis and Venice Pier been very very disappointing since October, and they are hubby's morning golden hour bait place (jetties) and Shark fishing at night at the Pier hasn't been very good either.

Lots of friends saying the fishing been off more than on for several months since red tide, cold fronts and so on around our Tampa to Fort Myers typical corridor.

Nothing yet, I'm still new down here.

And after looking at the big poster of all the species of Florida fish on the wall while I was waiting to get my Florida fishing license.......well not a one of them look like anything I have ever caught up North!

And all the rules about which ones and when you can catch them? Well I got some learning to do before I drop a line.

Probably the same ones who name a fish with a big mouth full of teeth Muskie.
Should be Foot Eater or something, from all the uniniated that dangle their feet off the docks.
