How's the market these days for selling a TT?

My wife and I have not decided yet that RVing has run its course and we should sell our TT, but we talk about that from time to time.

I'm curious if any of you have any fairly recent experience trying to sell one, and you could give me your opinion on how well they might sell these days. I would expect that RVs in general tend to be "discretionary spending" for a lot of people, and the economy in general doesn't seem to me to be all that conducive to that kind of spending. So I'm wondering if trying to sell ours would be a useless exercise right now.

Related to that, what avenues might I explore, if I do decide to try to sell it? Online websites abound, these days. I imagine even Craigslist is an option.

Any thoughts on that aspect of the topic would also be appreciated!

Thx.

Tom
  • Definitely Craig's List. As far as will it sell? If its clean and in good condition I imagine it won't sit long. Our dealer sold our trade in a month and I know that RV sales are back up to pre-2008 levels.
  • Priced right it will sell. Overpriced it will sit. The internet has cuts both ways. It gives you a much greater ability to market to prospective buyers. It also gives buyers the ability to shop and compare many more RVs. Everyone thinks their RV is special or nicer than all the others out there. It really isn't. Got to price right to sell.
  • Just remember that RV's depreciate a lot so price it realistically and probably below what you think it's worth.
  • Just sold ours, 1st non salesperson to call and visit bought it for the price asked. I priced it right above NADA average price. Used Craigslist, took 3 days.
