Ice storage

Hello happy Rv'ers,
Does anyone know where I can find a inexpensive(compact) ice storage unit for ice, we make ice at home and we cannot store the ice in our freezer at our camper to much ice and. I cannot find a decent ice maker, like to keep the cost down but I like the ice we make at home instead of the campgrounds ice, melts to fast, just little compact freezer for ice like a compact and or a counter top.

Thank you very much,hey camping,
Ron
  • Don't need a refrigerator, need a small freezer that keeps ice, just ice, cold for drinks.

Target, wallmart all have ice makers. Some around $100. Every now and then they go on sale. Not very big should be easy to carry and store.
  • Yeti coolers makes a small very well insulated cooler that will keep ice for days
  • One thing you might look into. The small dorm type refrigerators have a temperature sensor which is usually fastened directly to the bottom of the freezer. If you can unfasten it so it does not contact the freezer, the fridge will think it is warmer and cool down to below freezing. I have done this and it works pretty well.
