You really need a closet full of clean clothes and cabinets full of groceries before you start. The ability to cat nap is a bonus. My company was very supportive and offered to get me relief if I needed it. A lot of guards/companies arrange for some one to relieve them for shopping or laundry when working alone. As an aside; let me say that showers and bathroom breaks can be challenging when working alone. ;)
As for a single person on a gate....I do not know how that works...Not the norm but because of the need...there are people trying to man the gate being single person.
