x2 Got bad diesel in a small truck stop in Texas -never again
Truck stops go through a lot of diesel so itโs always fresh.
7 yrs FT traveling weekly........secondary/back roads and using Ma/Pa and every other type of service stations.
Filling up with diesel all over the USA and NEVER gt bad diesel OR had any issues with clogged fuel filter.
:H
That doesn't mean it doesn't/hasn't happen to others:S

We pull into truck stops, whether it is a Flying J, Love's, T/A, etc. We are pretty much assured that we can get in/out and they have diesel. If I have to pay an extra $.05-$.10 - the $3.50 hit is purely the price we pay for ease in/out.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But, along the interstate, I've never had problems with my 59.5 foot rig getting in and out of conventional "gas" stations to fill up with diesel.
Sometimes you run into a fuel station that has the diesel pump located at a very bad position, off the side with no way to drive completely around the building. When that happens, I carefully analyze the situation to determine if I can back out or not. I don't mind back out at all. There have only been a very, very small handful of fuel stations that were difficult to navigate, to the point, I drove on. Most of those were in town though, with areas really too tight for 59 feet to navigate.
You've got to use your head, evaluate the station when you pull up to it, look it over, try to spot the pump where it's located and determine if you can do it or not. Your own driving skills also plays a big roll in your decision too.
I personally, do not like truck stops. I avoid them as much as possible. Except for the I-80 truck stop in Iowa, almost every one I've ever been too has dirty diesel bays, oil and diesel spilled everywhere, and are just about as unpleasant as they come.
In the end, it's all really a matter of your own driving skills if you want to navigate or not. But 99% (my own estimate) of them will be pretty easy.

You are going to Disney and don't like high cost?
They are now charging for overnight parking at their hotels. ๐
Flying J's RV Islands with Good Sam 8ยข discount and Visa card with another 3% discount make stopping there not outrageous.
Plus after fueling, park and go inside the Denny's with a AARP card 15% discount. ๐
Rather pay a little extra for fuel then get stuck in a Mom & Pop station being hard to get in or out of.
Good Luck

Question, I prefer to not stop at Flying J's/Love's due to higher cost.
