Interstate Gas Stations that have Diesel

Will be travelling from VA to Disney in a week. Question, I prefer to not stop at Flying J's/Love's due to higher cost. When the interstate signs at an Exxon/Shell/BP have the word diesel above their sign is that typically that they just sell diesel at the normal gas pump island and don't have a dedicated truck lane that sells diesel? tks

I use Gas Buddy for lowest price within reasonable distance from interstates. I drive a long bed crew pulling a 35ft 5W and I have not found a station I could not get in. Watch how you enter & plan exit BEFORE you pull in. I have had to back out of a pump island once in 7 to 8 years when cars parked at the building blocked my planed exit, I likely could have waited until they all moved.

I refuse to pay truck stop prices for a little more room. Not my first anti truck stop post, dirty, noisy, over priced.

Truck stops go through a lot of diesel so itโ€™s always fresh.

7 yrs FT traveling weekly........secondary/back roads and using Ma/Pa and every other type of service stations.
Filling up with diesel all over the USA and NEVER gt bad diesel OR had any issues with clogged fuel filter.

Exactly easy in and out supersedes ALL other factors!

Uh, so your towing an RV and concerned about a few cents more per gallon the big stores SOMETIMES charge compared to the backwoods and questionable smaller stations off the interstate, that may or may not sell diesel within a truck lane? WHAT?

Come on now...get your priorities straight.

Look at them with Google Earth and figure out which you can use. Not difficult.

BTW, I went through a Flying J RV lane that was very tight. After getting fuel I had to scuff tires a little on both sides to get out, and I'm only 36 feet.

I never have a problem finding a large truck stop to fill up in. I consider it one of the advantages to driving a diesel.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But, along the interstate, I've never had problems with my 59.5 foot rig getting in and out of conventional "gas" stations to fill up with diesel.

Sometimes you run into a fuel station that has the diesel pump located at a very bad position, off the side with no way to drive completely around the building. When that happens, I carefully analyze the situation to determine if I can back out or not. I don't mind back out at all. There have only been a very, very small handful of fuel stations that were difficult to navigate, to the point, I drove on. Most of those were in town though, with areas really too tight for 59 feet to navigate.

You've got to use your head, evaluate the station when you pull up to it, look it over, try to spot the pump where it's located and determine if you can do it or not. Your own driving skills also plays a big roll in your decision too.

I personally, do not like truck stops. I avoid them as much as possible. Except for the I-80 truck stop in Iowa, almost every one I've ever been too has dirty diesel bays, oil and diesel spilled everywhere, and are just about as unpleasant as they come.

In the end, it's all really a matter of your own driving skills if you want to navigate or not. But 99% (my own estimate) of them will be pretty easy.

It's for all those reasons I prefer a truck stops. If 99% of stations were easy access these threads would not come up.
I don't need to determine or evaluate anything. I know acces is good and I can just pull up to the pump.
If I have to put it in reverse hopefully I backing into my site. If I'm at a gas station using reverse. I made a huge mistake and chose the wrong station:M
I don't need to complete a RV driving rodeo just to save a few cents. I don't need to deal with any 4 wheelers and the drama they create at the pumps. The aggravation is not worth the so called savings.:(
As far as cleanliness, I'm fueling up not moving in.

They are now charging for overnight parking at their hotels. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Flying J's RV Islands with Good Sam 8ยข discount and Visa card with another 3% discount make stopping there not outrageous.

Plus after fueling, park and go inside the Denny's with a AARP card 15% discount. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rather pay a little extra for fuel then get stuck in a Mom & Pop station being hard to get in or out of.

Good Luck

Don't ASSume.

Travelling up and down I-95 last fall, Pilot/FJ was competetive everywhere that I noticed and with the GS discount they were usually better. But that was GAS; I don't use diesel.

I don't think you should automatically rule out anything in advance.
