Holy frick it's been hot lately. We were in Bend OR and thought that was HOT. But then we stayed two nights in Quincy WA (just east of the Cascade mountains) in a CG with no shade and found a new definition of HOT. Couldn't get the inside much below 85F at best during the day and had to run the AC all night for the first time ever.
The frickin' heat sucks the energy right out of a person. Takes your appetite away and have to make sure to keep drinking fluids. I can see how heat can kill some people. Really tough on our dog too. Pretty tough on us northerner folks... :(
There's been many new record high temps around the world. Scandinavia has been seeing record heat and Finland has a historic wildfire outbreak.
If high temps is going to be more the norm in the future due to climate change, I think we'll stick to the west coast where it's cooler and there's a nice ocean breeze.
