Kayak roof rack on truck

Hey guys, I had been looking around for a good solution to carry kayak's with a 5th wheel. I decided I don't have the capacity to build on the rear hitch to hold them so I figure the next best thing is a roof rack on the crew cab.

2020 F350 crew, anyone have links to what fits on the roof to carry kayaks? It looks like yakima has something, does this work?

US Rack.

It does a very good job with our 12.5' fishing kayaks.

$2500? I thought Thule was expensive at around $700 wow

Have you priced fishing kayaks? I wouldn't want to trust them to a "budget" rack. 😉
I was serious when I said I did not want to spend the money. My wife and I are both frugal, but she outvoted me. Like I said, I would buy it again after having it for several years.

for anyone following along...

I contacted Thule, as Yakima had some bad reviews, they said the following would work for my 2020 crew cab f350

clamp = https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JCWWNSY
fit kit = https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MGF7D6V
bars = https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J2JFG4R
kayak racks = https://www.thule.com/en-us/winter-and-water-sports-carriers/kayak-roof-racks

Not sure which kayak rack I want yet, as I just want to carry as many as possible.

If I had a travel trailer that'd work.

I struggled with that question myself for our 12' kayaks along with our bikes. In the end I built a trailer to tow behind the fifth. This works very well for us as we can bring either 6 kayaks or 4 kayaks and 4 bikes depending on our needs for the trip. This may be an option to look at ad well

Yeah same here as I have an F-150 on order, wished ford offered a roof rack as it was one of the first questions I asked. Good info on thread! :C

Both Thule and Yakima are quality brands. Either one IMO.

That should work as I have seen late model crew cab pickups like mine with those racks. Thule also makes those same type of racks. I have a USA camper rack on top of my camper shell on another older Dodge Ram. It carries many items nicely including my two different size kayaks.

I am also in the market for those roof racks for my newer dodge ram. There are many on craigs list in good condition ( a complete set) for much less money but have to be careful who you meet with.
