My wife has agreed to go on the first trip of 14' in February. (My idea)
I'd like to surprise her by finding some little Yarn/Knitting shops in the Savanah and Charleston areas. If you or your wife know of any please let me know. I'd love to just pull up and say "thought you'd like to look around in here" Knitters, you know what I'm talking about, the ones that are run by knitters first and business people second.
Help please all ideas welcome.

Tom, that sounds interesting. If you don't mind passing on the name when she returns, I'll get the book for my DW.
Thanks!

My DW knits and has a book that lists knit stores by state and town. I can't remember the name. I think it is Knitter's guide or something like that. It is under the front seat of the Jeep and she is gone at the moment. Probably to a knit store. It is usually one of the first stops when we hit a new town. Plug the address into the G.P.S. and away we go. Dog & I wake in the car. She usually returns with some great recommendations on places to eat and things to see/do from locals.

I'm a novice knitter so I thought I'd take a look & see what google had to offer. Savannah -
Unwind Yarn and Gifts is on Facebook. If you aren't on Facebook, I think if you look them up on google you can see their Facebook page. Here's their phone # (912) 303-3970. Address, 7710 Waters Ave.
Wild Fibre has an after hours knitting. They are also on FB. Web: http://wildfibresavannah.com/

I didn't have much success finding shops for the Charleston area. Hopefully someone who lives in the area will know of a place or two for you.

BTW,this is pretty special - your little shop stop! Be prepared for her to find more yarn that must come along on the trip.

Tried google. But it's like loking at the yellowpages(dateing myself)in a new town, to find a resturant. Yes, they're all listed but the locals can tell you where the "good" places are.

Have you tried Google? I just typed in knit shops Savannah and found a surprising number of entries. Some of them sound what you are looking for, but I, thankfully, know nothing about knitting. I bet with just a little effort on your part you can zero in on exactly what you want.
