5:45am. I'm snuggled in bed blissfully asleep. The "camper" 12 feet away is quietly packing up his TT in order to get an early start on the road.

Then holy heck breaks loose. My neighbor elects to use an impact wrench to raise his landing gear!! My first waking thought is that a semi is bearing down on our RV and the noise is his jake brake. I jump out of bed while wearing nothing but my skivvies, and promptly run smack dab into the wardrobe door and fall backwards onto the previously slumbering DW. Be warned... Never fall on to this person while she is asleep. But don't worry, the knots on my forehead will eventually go away.

So if you were the guy with the impact wrench at 5:45 IN THE MORNING, "knock it off knucklehead"!

Camp grounds are not libraries. Don't expect them to be. But an impact is the wrong choice of tool for that job. At any time of day.

Why does any time have noise that affects other persons in the camp area? Why not just keep your noise to a minimum and your choice of music inside your area?

Simply that respecting quiet hours before 6am is no more/less expected than after 9pm (or whatever times are posted as quiet hours). And not just generators or power tools. Quiet means no racous campfire yelling, screaming, banging on the beer cooler.

I don't have a problem getting up that early. Do so every day. But I try to be quiet. Don't think someone should use power tools/gear/etc that early.

I agree,, I am up and out by that time! I came to fish,,not sleep in!! I have a really nice master bedroom at home with all the tech stuff so I can watch 496 channels and any sports venue I wish, I have total black out curtains, and A/C and Heat. If i plan on sleeping in its at home,,not out at the lake or ocean!! I want to absorb all of the atmosphere I can while I am there!!

The DW on the other hand,, well,, I keep as quiet as I can and set up the fishing gear and clothing the night before so I can slip out as quiet as a church mouse!!

And if there's no fishin,,then there's "Watchin",, I like to get up sit out have a cup of joe and watch the non campers try to get their day going!! Its worth a laugh!!
And if the camp ground is slow,, I'll put a pan of bacon,onions and eggs on,, the smell is very very quiet,,,,but effective!!

thou i do not have my tt yet, but as a tenter i am with this guy. i would have been at the lake. already sipping coffee waiting for the the arrival of the sun.
then would have laughed my butt off hearing the air wrench and now knowing the outcome.

Some people are just early birds. On the flip side if you go to bed at 9:00 because you are up at o'dark thirty please don't expect a silent campground.

Well, I guess I am joking about understanding the issue. I am considerate enough to keep the noise down at that hour. Or at least for another 15 minutes until quiet time ends.

Not joking about it not being that early. I'm up by then at home. So why would I waste that time when on vacation? The back side of my eyelids look the same whether at home or in camp. Nothing interesting to see there. Get up!!! Get at 'em.
