Leaf spring angle / geometry with adjustable hangers

My 5er has adjustable hangers. All the hardware sits in the top most holes. I want to install a new equalizer between the axles like the ex flex but am not sure if moving from the top hole to the bott...

I often wondered that myself. Not knowing the answer to your question and if no one replies that really does knows, I would go with your alternate plan.

My other idea was to just cut off the bottom of the hanger if need be.
