- busyguyExplorertowed a 1997 Chrysler van for about 50,000 mile with a remco pump. sold the van and and put the pump in my PT crusier. Towed it about 40,000 miles before the pump started to leak. Bought a new pump and have used it for the last 25,000 miles. No problems. I did the install myself.
Busyguy - TripalotExplorerWe towed a Toyota Highlander for 6 years using a Remco pump - no problems whatsoever. We put about 60,000 miles, maybe more on the Toyota. We no longer tow that vehicle, but still drive it regularly with lube pump disconnected.
- BumpyroadExplorerI would NOT buy any vehicle as a toad that required either a drive shaft disconnect or a tranny lube pump. why invite issues? had the drive shaft disconnect, hated it. search for pump failures.
bumpy - acker1ExplorerI've used the pump for a few years. Last tow had electrical problems with stuff running due to having to leave key in ignition in order to leave tow in neutral. Just traded for a 4X4 to eliminate that problem. I have some of the old parts posted on irv2.com if you are interested.
Thanks
DICK - Dutch_12078Explorer IIWe've towed two different toads (both RAV4's) for a total of over 40,000 miles using the same REMCO lube pump. We've had zero transmission or pump problems with either toad, except for a broken shift cable in the older RAV that wasn't pump related of course. The older 2002 RAV (30,000+ miles in tow) is still in daily service as our "spare" car, while the newer 2011 RAV (10,000+ miles in tow) is our current toad. I did the installations on both cars.
