- magicbusExplorer III used Tri-Flow for my tow bar arms and still use it any time something is going into my hitch receiver to make sure it releases easily. It is my go to spray lubricant.
Dave - phil-tExplorerRoadmaster recommends a dry silicone lubricant after cleaning with a water soluable cleaner and thorough drying.
- ScottGNomadI use Vaseline because it washes out of my pants..
- dodge_guyExplorer IIAre you as,ing about a tow bar as in flat towing? Or a weight distributing hitch as in a travel trailer?
- BobboExplorer IIReese Strait-Line recommends grease on the pivot sockets, and vaseline on the cam surfaces (if squealing).
- 1320FastbackExplorerI just use wheel bearing and chassis grease as I have lots of it for work.
- ken56ExplorerI use white lithium on the pivot points on the hitch head and for the ball and I bought the pads to go on the L-brackets of my Equal-I-Zer brand hitch. Quieted down the noise a lot.
- bennefimExplorerDodge guy, I was asking about lube for flat tow extender arms.
Doug - LouLawrenceExplorerRemove the rubber arm covers, clean well with WD-40 and wipe clean. Then use dry silicone to get rid of the WD-40. Reinstall and secure the rubber boots and you are good for another year or 2.
