? Macerator Pump Question

One of the things we do when we get the RV back home is rinse & air dry everything sewer-related.

Can macerator pumps be hosed off? Not fully submerged, but fully wet down from hose rinsing top-bottom-inside-outside.

  • I've had to take apart the impellers of my portable FloJet to pull red/brown cotton out of them, when an acquaintance of mine decided to drop some feminine hygiene products into the toilet. For the outside, I'd just wipe it off, and not obviously get it wet, just to be on the safe side.

Not much to hose off but sure, why not - just give the inside where the stainless steel blades are located a quick flush and you're done ... just what I've been doing for the last dozen years with mine. :B

Look for ventelation holes on the pump motor housing (I DO NOT THINK YOU WILL FIND ANY) if there are none yes you can hose it down.

    Only senistive spots are
Where wires enter the motor housing

The slotted shaft on the non-pump end of the motor,
  • What type.BRAND/Model is your macerator?

We have a portable Flojet.......it has sat out in rain storm.
When I go to put it away I rinse the whole thin down......but it is 'sealed'
12 yrs and still going strong

    Is yours?
