Maxxis Tires Installed Today

Got two Maxxis M8008 185/80R13 installed on the Pop up today. We have several thousand miles worth of towing planned for this year so new tires it was for the PUP. My local tire shop got Maxxis tires for my last TT and a quick phone call to them scored a new set for my Pop Up.

They are not as fresh as I would have liked being at the one year old mark but they are much better than the tires they replaced. Maxxis has a 5 year warrenty from the date of manufacture and I have a solid 4 years left. For $77.00 each I can live with that.

Hopefully my positive experience with Maxxis tires will continue with the little 13's but we will see how they hold up over the summer. My last set were 15's and held up well.

These little 13's hold 50psi..pretty interesting.

Thanks!

Jeremiah
  • I did get to put 500 miles on the tires this past weekend and they performed flawlessly. They rode exceptionally well. That may have been due to the fact that they are balanced.

    Thanks!

    Did you have them balanced?

    Nope, I didn't think about it.

    Matter of fact, I don't know if my wheels are lug centric or hub centric.

    got to do some research now.

    Thanks!
  • Been happy with mine.
    I recently bought some new tires and had the old Maxxis put on. Two had problems;
    1 had an old flat repair at the edge of the tread on the side-wall and that was causing it to come apart inside.
    The other had a tread separation in the same area but that tire had once hit a low cement wall around a dump station. (Wall was hidden by tall grass.)
    Maxxis prorated the second one and since I had only used up 1/16" of tread they paid for all most all of it.
