Mileage on CR-V

yours is just broken, in mine 2003 has 122k , buddy just turned 200k and still going and its all orginal.year 2002 just keep it ,I looked at new ones and the mpg are the same ,matter fact my wifes 2010 get less than my 2003 . the 2003 gets 24 city 31 high way.

I would think that at that mileage, I would change out the timing belt, serpentine belt, and put in new brushes in the alternator and it should be good to go for another 100,000 trouble free miles.

Santa brought us one.2014 CR-V EXL Just put the base plate and lites.Also has a brake buddy to put in. Only has 24 miles now. We be ready to go after Jan 1.

Keep in mind the new CRV,s are not flat towable. Honda made a transmission change.

I had planned on changing out the timing belt, but when I called the Honda dealer I was told mine didn't have a timing belt and didn't need changing.

We are on our second CR-V putting 68,000 miles on the '07 plus an additional 57,000 miles of towing.

The '13 CR-V has almost 20,000 miles of driving plus another 13,000 miles of towing.

My sister bought a 2002 Honda CR-V six or seven years ago with 100,000 miles on it and it now has about 205,000 miles and it runs like a top. She has no plans of changing cars until it starts giving her a lot of trouble.

If you are seriously considering a change, by all means do it now before you get caught up in the story that the cr-v will no longer be flat towable..We are several years from that decision.

Tropical_ron.... good point. The 2015 Honda CR-V is not towable four down without mods because of the CVT (Constant Variable Transmission). I'm going to miss having a CR-V in the future. Probably will go with a Jeep next.

You could also find a used Saturn or a Chevy Captiva (that's what the VUE became and is used by rental fleets) or a used HHR...same drivetrain as CRV until this year..Equinox is definitely flat towable as is GMC Terrain or Chevy Traverse...I plan on running my VUE into the ground...and have a Chevy Sonic which is also flat towable as a daily driver..The Saturn isn't perfect after 100 K on the clock plus 27K towing..but it does very nicely...one of the heated seats doesn't work...big deal...

Good friend of mine is a service manager for a Dodge dealership. He recently commented that today's cars are 200,000 mile cars, if they were quality built and properly maintained. The whole reason I went with a CR-V over another Jeep was the life expectancy.
