Mister for the awning?

I wasn't quite sure where this fit in, but here goes...

Has anyone installed one of those misters onto their awning? We have been experiencing an extended period of over 100* temps with no relief in sight. We have a portable mister in the yard at home, but wondered if the ones that you hang from the edge of the awning (sort of like those light strings) would be effective for the trailer.

Any ideas?

We have one and like to use it on those really hot days. Only one problem it tends to get everything wet under the awning. Chairs, ground covering, anything and everything beneath your awning. But it sure feels good.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. We had it on the ground, but it was only keeping our legs cool! Once I put it above our heads, it 'rained' down on us and keep the whole canopy cool.

The item pictured above is normally free-standing on the ground about 2-feet high. If you have the storage spot for one while traveling, I think they'd be less fuss than a full multi-nozzle system.

DW thought a mister for the awning was a pretty good idea, until she realized y'all are talking about water sprayers...

I have close to 30 of them surrounding that patio and am rather well versed in these things, so here goes.
- They do require maintenance, but there is a $15 mineral filter sold at Lowes, HD, etc., that makes this almost a non-problem. With street pressure they will occasionally clog, and all I do is pull them out and bang them on the ground.

- The lines CAN get stinky with stagnant water, but I replaced a mister at the far end of the patio with a screw-in relief valve. As soon as the water gets shut off and pressure drops, the lines drain out onto the lawn.

- The problem with awnings, unless it's really hot and dry is that with maybe 60psi driving them so close to you, things are going to get wet. It's more of a thick mist than a fog. My system is permanently installed 1/2" PVC being driven by a 160PSI compressor hidden in the plants. By far the best improvement to the system. It went from water on the patio and curled up magazine and papers to a nice wall of fog.

IMO, tie 2 (only) to a fan and enjoy

Yes, and wine from the bottle. BBQs can be very frustrating so keep them at a distance, also.

If you decide to utilize mister's(I do use them on occasion) be careful of the hardness of the water. The Hard water can play havoc with your RV/Toad painted surfaces. Don't ask how I know this.....:)

Was in the local Home Depot yesterday and saw the one I bought several years ago. About 15 feet of 1/4" tube with misting heads every foot or so. One end has a female hose fitting the other end has a male hose fitting with a screw on cap installed.

We had them on our patio at home. Always having trouble with them clogging up and never knew which was the wind was going to blow.
We got some misters that attach to the front of a fan for the RV.
That has worked out great for us,

I have a rigid system mounted under our patio pergola and love it.
It has quality removable, cleanable, replaceable brass nozzles and a pressure booster pump. Quality nozzles and filtering is what makes the difference.

It is usually over 80% humidity here and they work great even in the Houston muggy summer.

The company I buy my nozzles from also sale THIS and THIS that use the same nozzles. May be an option for you.
