Has anyone tried one of these? I have been unable to find any in stores to see before purchasing. In particular, how strong is the connection?

Storage, setup and the number of people it carries are three things to consider. I have a kayak and a reinforced rubber raft. The kayak I transport on top of my tow car for local travel to fishing spots when I am just going by myself. For longer trips out west with my wife or GS I don't want to take 2 or 3 kayaks so I keep and travel with a 3 man rubber raft. It is a lot easier to set up and blows up in less than 10 mins. I store it in the baggage storage compartment with the rest of my fishing stuff. Used it in rivers and lake across the US and Canada up to Alaska. It is a lot more stable for fishing than my kayak and much easier to store and transport.

I don't own one as I have another type of kayak. However, I read a thread on another forum about adventures that one kayaker had who owned a modular kayak called a Tequila. It was very durable and he used it for fishing in the ocean. Also, I recall seeing a modular kayak at REI sporting goods but can't recall the brand.

One of my coworkers developed a folding boat which may be of interest to RV boaters. It's light weight, easy to assemble and very portable. A recent article in the local newspaper described its history.

We saw these at a kayak show. I told my wife we should get one so if I noticed she wasn't paddling I could turn her loose.

I called Dick's when I was visiting the family in Michigan last week. They did not have any in the store. Which location did you see them?

I can just see it now doing a big belly flop over some rapids and then all of your stuff goes floating away in different directions haha I'm sure they must lock together good...

I already own two sit-upons (I'm more the lake kayaker than the river kayaker) but they are hard to carry in the Class C unless I am towing. I have seen them online, but would like actual inspection before parting with the dough.
