Most common campground complaints?

Running a campground for this season, we're lucky (or maybe hard working enough?) that we don't hear about too many complaints.

So we were thinking, what things have you found to complain about at a campground? What's the most common thing you dislike that a campground manager would be able to do something about?

Here's our experience with complaints so far...

Our biggest gripe is unruly, unsupervised kids running wild. I don't mean normal play, I mean situations we've seen where parents camp so the campground can deal with them! It's not usually the teens but elementary ages that have been taught no camping etiquette!

I love to complain about everything!

However when RVing out in the woods we find things that seem irritating are just people trying to have a little fun.

Can't say we've ever really had anything worthwhile to complain about.

We just completed a 30 plus day trip from San Jose, CA to several places in AK. There was only one CG about which I'd complain. One in Canada where the sign stated "all admitted for one price" then when we got there he changed it. In addition he charged extra for wi fy which we could never get. This was our kast night in Canada on the return trip and we were so tired we didn't bother to complain or challenge. We stayed in at least twenty camps and that was the only one of which we would not return.

The silent bullet is probably the worst complaint you will receive. A decent camper that has to put up with too much will not complain, he just will not return.
If you have a lot regulars, you are doing a good job.Unless they are the "clique", that travel in herds. They like places where they can rule the campground.

There are lots of things I could complain about, and sometimes do, but then I think about having to stay in a hotel and all seems well with the world.

One that I've seen frequently, and often wondered about...

Campers that hook a drain hose up to their grey water outflow

and let it drain out onto the campsite. Have seen it multiple

times... can't be acceptable, can it ???

X2, and I would also add unsupervised kids.

I just reread your original post. As a manager, you may not have as much influence as you think. I think most of us would prefer a campground that's well maintained and everyone abides by the rules. But the owners still have the last say and as long as the money keeps rolling in, many of them will allow facilities to deteriorate and campers to get rowdy.

Please note I said 'many owners'. That doesn't equal 'all owners'. The last time I made a post like this some owner went off about how well his campground is run. So, if you're an owner who puts as much back into the campground as you get out of it and routinely evict folks who disobey the rules, more power to you. And please publish the name of your campground so I can put it on my list of places to visit.

People misuse bath houses. By this I mean doing dishes in them etc. and yes washing their dogs. Also those who figure no one will want to use it after them and leave it in a state where it can't be used by another. How are their bathrooms at home? EEEEWWWWW!
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

Untrimmed trees. Almost every CG I go to (and that's not many) have low-hanging branches I have to dodge.

Perhaps we can keep the thread on point about things the manager has conrol over.
