National Interstate has been my RV (motorhome) insurance company since day 1 (2001). One claim, no problem. Couple years ago, my agent called...said they had a 'dramatic" increase in rates. I could cut my premium just about in half if I went for the "book value" instead of the "replacement or purchase value".
I went for the "book value". What would you do? Anyway...insurance, generally speaking....HOUSE insurance is voluntary. So it stays relatively cheap. Motor vehicle insurance is, by law, MANDATORY...so they gotcha' by the b**ls and they know it.
