Need reccomendations for mattress topper

In our class B we sleep on dinette cushions. They are comfortable enough but there are small valleys where the cushions meet. Anyone use a thin topper that would make everything flat? It would have to be somewhat firm to not conform to the valleys, but we don't want it to be too thick either...

I've been perusing Amazon and feel like I'm not getting anywhere. I figure there must be others here who have dealt with dinette cushions...

Wow - thanks everyone for the recommendations and thoughts! I thought I'd seen every topper on Amazon till I clicked on the provided links...

We're going out shopping today so we'll check out a few at the stores. Still not sure about memory foam - need to be able to crawl over the bed and not sure how that sinking feeling will be.

Thanks Ichabod for the idea of the "bed bridge" - that looks like it would be perfect under a topper.

As far as replacing the cushions with a whole new mattress... That's an idea, but it probably would make it difficult to take the bed apart - which I have to do once in a while to get at some of the utilities.

Will let you know how things work out. ๐Ÿ™‚

I'd have to disagree as we bought a 3" Gel Memory Foam Topper from Costco several years ago and it converted the trailer's el cheapo rock hard mattress into a luxurious soft pillow top.

After extending the length of the bed platform I simply pulled the mattress forward and used the topper's excess length to fill the gap between the mattress and headboard. In your application it could easily be cut to size with a knife.

We like it so much we bought a second for use in the house. :B

We did this also. Sleep like a log since we did this...

We love our memory foam topper! We wouldn't have a bed without one. We use a 3" with cool gel technology, but in winter put a thin crate foam over it so that it WILL absorb body heat. We stay nice and toasty even when it's only 50 inside the rv. Just take the egg crate one off for summer.

We have purchased 2 "Cloud 9" mattress toppers from Amazon. One for home and one for our TT mattress. 3" and what a difference! Check out all the positive reviews on Amazon!

You keep it as a bed

Remove and store the cushions

Replace with the foam mattress of your choice, you can cut to fit , If needed

At some point in the future, when ready to trade it in, or give up RV life, you will have like new dinette cushions to put back in the Class B
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

If it's a full time bed, ditch the cushions and get a standalone memory foam mattress. We got an 8" one for about $200 on Amazon for our fifth wheel and it's extremely comfortable.

We have this one, inexpensive, came in the size we needed, and it's breathable which most of the ones I looked at were not. They come in other thicknesses as well and even have ones that are ventilated with gel.

Since you leave it set up as a bed, can you find something one-piece to replace the cushions? Maybe a memory foam one you can cut to fit?

When I had a jackknife sofa in my other RV I used One of These to make it flatter then used a foam topper.

Maybe you can cut it to the lengths you need then add the foam topper if needed.

My Class B, Xplorer 230XL, has a permanent bed in the back with a rock hard mattress. I have a bad back. I first put 2-3" thick eggshell foam on top and that helped. 4 or 5 years ago I added 2" of memory foam on top of the eggshell and that is great, very comfortable. I don't know if that would smooth over the valleys in your bed or not.

I can't talk about mattress toppers for the RV but I recently got one for my bed at home and have never slept better. I've got a really bad back and neck and the topper I got is a godsend https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PH8ONBM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 along with a pillow Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow, Standard Size. Both are on a 2 year old Sealey Mattress that I thought was very supportive before I got the topper.
P.S. I cut and pasted this from an earlier reply to a different post and have since purchased another specifically for my RV jackknife sofa and the results were the same. Yes it fills in the gaps between cushions very well.

I always had luck at JC Penney, using their Foam Mattress Toppers. I would avoid using anything that calls itself "memory foam", that tends to be really squishy. The biggest question is where to store the mattress pad while you're using the dinette to eat?

Another thought: I slept on the dinette in our pop-up truck camper. I bought the thickest yoga mat I could find on Amazon (about $17 for a 5/8" thick mat) - it was quite firm and comfy; and rolled back up into a cylinder when done. They are only 22 - 24" wide, so you'd want two....
Sorry - I forgot to add that we keep the bed as a bed fulltime. So won't need to store the topper.

Thanks for the advice about memory foam. We really know nothing about these things...
