We have now been camping for 23/24 years and just completed our first trip alone. Our first trip many years ago was started when our oldest was 1 and now that our youngest just headed off to college this past Friday, we just camped my wife and I by ourselves. We had a great weekend, weather was great and we were able to handle all the things our son would do to help set up and take down. My wife turns out to be good at directing me to hook up and she cranks down a mean corner jack lol. Looking forward to many more great trips.

I like the bunkhouse because it comes with my outside kitchen which I love. Heading out tomorrow for another trip just the 2 of us. Once thing I did not mention that is making this all the more meaningful is I am in my second week of chemo and time with my wife is just so special. All is good though and we are going to be fine.

We love to camp with the grandkids and the family. It has changed the type of park we look for too. WOw used to look for adult oriented no kids, now it is kid oriented no adults it seems. It is wonderful camping iwth grands and it has changed how we thought we would be camping now.

Its time to dig out that dusty list of places to go that would bore the kids silly. My folks did that after my Dad retired. They'd call or write every so often to tell me where they were. By that time, I was a working adult so they didn't have to plan their trips around things that I wanted to do. They went where they wanted to go and I used to drive the 30 miles to their home on weekends to check on the place and take care of the lawn. Boy, paybacks are Hell. ๐Ÿ™‚

Your comments reminded me of something my Mom told me after Dad passed away from a heart attack in 1982. She said it had always been his dream to travel America and see the country once they retired. But he never got the chance. Mom got to take many trips with us in the MH before she passed away a few years ago. Every trip I plan I think about Dad and Mom and how much they would have enjoyed doing what I get to do. I make it a point to have fun every trip we take in their memory.

My wife and I have been RV`ing/camping on our own for about 8 years now. Our youngest son quit coming with us when he was mid way thru highschool. We truly enjoy getting away with just us....since home still means son going to college from home, and DW watching grandkids after school each day let alone everyday during summer break. Our trips mean that we can come and go as we choose at our leisure while we are gone.

The DW and I travel together now, as all the kids are grown with families of their own. But gosh, do we have fun. Sleep wben we want, eat when we want, do nothing, do something, go somewhere or stay put.

We took our six-year-old granddaughter camping over the July 4th weekend, and we are so not ready to entertain little kids. She wanted to do EVERYTHING, and we wanted to do...relaxing. Thankfully, we took a lot of coloring books, crayons and library books. She wasn't very good at entertaining herself, but she got a little better and had fun.

We are taking our single-parent son and his three kids(one of which is the 6yo) camping this weekend in their shiny new tent. It's time for the tradition to continue - he grew up tent camping, and now it's time for his kids.

We will be in the MH...relaxing! ๐Ÿ˜‰

We're at that point in life where we look forward to camping with our married son(s). With their busy work schedule, it doesn't happen too often, but it's another great part of this stage of our life. And the freedom of being retired and just traveling?camping with the DW is great!

Wait till the grandkids come along. Our grandson is 12 and we take him everywhere we go during summer when school's out. I've never had so much fun planning trips as I do when I know he's going with us. It gives me reason to go to many different places I might not have gone had he not been with us. In the mean time, enjoy the time the two of you get to spend. DW and I have never been alone in all our years of rving.

It sure is a different world without them and man were we ready to be on our own. Stop when and where we want not worry about pools and stuff for them to do. Cook what and when we want get up and go to bed as we please. Yes we miss them but this ain't bad either

That's great! Life has its cycles. You and your bride can enjoy this stage for now.... if you're lucky, eventually there will be grandchildren to take along and spoil. It's all great in its own way. Happy trails!
