Yes, I'm sure of my figures. ;)Actual mpg posted on Mini.com (UK) is:4.5 liters/100 kilometers for Cooper3.5 l/100 km for Cooper D (probably not going to be available in the US)5.7 l/100 km for the Cooper SSo converting to US gallons gives the figures I posted above. Amazing, isn't it? All this from a turbo charged gasoline engine!

Real-world stats on the 2013 base Cooper is generally reported as about 32 mpg, and the 2013 "S" hovers at around 30mpg.:h

Francesca, Pat is talking about the "race" staged by the London Times between a BMW diesel and a Prius, where the beemer won. It doesn't matter how the gallons were measured because both vehicles were using the same measurement. You could measure the fuel as quarts per furlong and as long as both vehicles were measured the same it wouldn't matter.

As for the mileage for the new Mini, I did the conversion from liters per 100 kilometers into US mpg. Liters are the same everywhere, so imperial gallons don't enter into the equation.

Yes, I love Miatas too. If my cute hubby wasn't so tall, I would have had one about 15 years ago. I don't expect everyone here to be as much of a miniac as I am though.

LOL! I test drove a Mini Cooper convertible a couple of years back. LOVED it, but they wouldn't give me fair value for my trade-in. Ended up with my current Miata, which is super fun to drive as well, but with a bit less room.....
