New Tires Today

I got new tires for the camper today!

The OEM Westlakes were manufactured Feb. 2016 and I bought my current camper Oct. 2016. I have had blowouts on the interstate highways before and it is not fun.

We are going on a one month, Mid Dec. to Mid Jan. trip to the Keys. I was going to wait until Nov. to put a new set of tires on the camper. Discount Tire Direct had a $100.00 off flash sale per set of tires on Tuesday, I called my local store and they gave me the discount also. I got the Goodyear Endurance LT tires. Goodyear has a $60.00 manufacturer rebate on these tires also. I had them installed today. While waiting for the tires to be installed, and after I had already paid for them, I started wondering if Discount Tire gave a military discount (I am retired from the Navy). I went back up to my service guy and asked him if they gave the discount and he referred me to the manager who immediately gave me the discount!

So I got $100.00 off from the flash sale, plus 10% from Discount Tire and a $60.00 rebate from Goodyear.

So I only paid a total of $434.34 for a set of 225 75 15 LT Goodyear Endurance Tires including installation and balancing, with a manufacturing date of 3019, which means they are only 4 weeks old from manufacture!

All "Sounds" good but there has not been enough time to tell if the GY ENDURANCE will be a good tire. Only on the market for 2.5 years.

Maybe we can say "Good Tire" in 5 years??????

So, they've been out for 2.5 years, and I've only heard of one person who posted an issue (on Forest River Forums). That's already better performance than the China Bombs.

Hey I don’t make the RV.NET rules on when it’s ok to say tires are proven. :B

    Gotta agree with you Mike!

I had a 2nd spare mounted up on a rim I kept in my garage except for when we took long trips, tire on that rim was a China bomb.

One day I went to get that 2nd spare to throw in my truck for our upcoming long trip & saw the thing had blown up while sitting in the garage *no joke*.

  • Bought our Goodyear Endurance tires one day after our first blowout on our 3 year old Constancy brand tires that came on our Cedar Creek. 2018 trailer. Tires were over a year old when we bought new trailer. Got an estimate from a body shop to repair the damage.
  • Peace of mind: priceless

This stuff keeps them looking great and I've heard it protects well: https://smile.amazon.com/Dressing-Protectant-Attracting-Conditioner-Automotive/dp/B003VSATBI

Did you mean to say ST instead of LT?
