NM heavy motorhome license fee

I have searched through the posts every way I can think of and cannot find my answer of what is the cost to license an RV in New Mexico. :h

I have a 33,860 GVWR motorhome that I purchased in 2015. I am planning on purchasing a home in NM but am trying to figure what my initial cost will be to move there. I understand the income tax structure/property tax structure/& sales tax, and what it will cost to license my cars...just nothing that I can find to tell me what it costs to own a motorhome in New Mexico that is over 25,000 lbs!

Can anyone help me by directing me to a NM web site that has the actual weight fees for a 33,000# motorhome? or if there are members living in NM with approximately the same weight that can tell me what they pay? (please no one with a travel trailer or vehicle under 30,000 lbs so we don't overwhelm the posting)
  • I can't speak to motorhomes, but NM is really great for travel trailers. Here they're classed along with utility trailers and can be permanently licensed. I think we paid a bit over a hundred for a permanent tag several years ago. (The only problem is to keep the tag itself from deteriorating in our 300+ days of bright sunshine!)
    :)

Hi, Here is the Web site it is under NM Tax and Rev.New Mexico Tax & Rev MVD

Man I need to move. I pay more to license my motorcycle in Indiana than the max car license fee in New Mexico. I could license my Acura in New Mexico for 6.5 years for what it cost for 1 year in Indiana.
  • Folks, it is reasonable to assume 2015 is a typo.... let it go. :) Thanks.
