No Problem..but just a question??

I towed my 26' travel trailer with my 2002 F-250 SD for several years with no problem.. Truck and trailer were level when hooked up with a WD hitch...That was my old truck which I have since replaced with a 2006 F-250 SD. Now when hooked up, the front of the trailer is slightly higher than the rear (not level).. I assume that this is due to the larger wheels / tires (stock) on the 2006. It tows OK BUT I am wondering if it would be OK to drop the fixture that holds the hitch ball down one bolt hole on the receiver to level the trailer? Is that the proper attack to achieve a level trailer?
  • You are correct. That is the proper way to level your trailer. What you are doing is lowering the hitch head one hole on the shank.

Yes, lower the hitch ball shank one hole and inspect. It's better to be level or 'slightly' nose down.
  • I certainly am not an expert but I "assume" that this is how leveling is usually accomplished.?
