Blue Ox base plate on 2008 Ford Taurus X. Car was being driven solo and got stuck in the mud on a dirt road. Attached tow chains to the break away chain attachment points and was towed free with no problems. I did contact Blue Ox Service Department for assurance the base plate installation could handle that task and was assured there should not be a problem - and, there weren't any. Tuck this tid bit away should you too get stuck in the mud and need a tow.
