COLUMBUS, Ohio – In response to the developing public health situation with COVID-19 and the Ohio Department of Health’s Stay at Home Order (pdf), the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be closing campgrounds, cabins, golf courses, restrooms, shower houses, playgrounds, and state park marinas at all ODNR properties effective March 24, 2020, to protect the health of both visitors and staff.

Public outdoor spaces at Ohio state parks, wildlife areas, forests and nature preserves remain open, including trails, dog parks, and non-marina docks, but visitors should use common sense and follow? this guidance ?from the National Recreation and Park Association for staying safe while they are out:

So your a fulltime RVer, no home but a PO forward address. You are now kicked out of a campground. All campgrounds are closed where do you go. Some states have closed rest stops, nice. Can't even stop for a nature call and we as many never use the rest stop facilities we have our own. Too much panic not enough common sense but then these are orders from politicians most who cannot think past their next election.
9-11 WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

Although it does force those currently there to go home or to a private RV park, it also stops new travelers from moving thru and into those areas in the near future thus reducing people movement. People who had planned to visit those parks in the coming days will most likely stay home rather than go to a private RV park.

In addition to closing public parks, much of north Texas is moving into a shelter in place mode for everyone, meaning only essential travel allowed.

Not a good idea to send RVers out on the road from their Ohio campsite. Was this influenced by state park workers?
