Outdoor Adventure Free Truck drawing

Wife filled out the card to win a free truck at the Novi MI RV expo.

She was identified as one of the top 10 finalists, guaranteed to win 2 of 5 prizes, and 1 in 10 chance of winning the truck.

Thank God for the internet! Internet is full of stories of high pressure sales, where you "buy" a guaranteed apot at a RV park that some have reported to be ummm, have issues. The lifetime contract comes with an annual service fee. Fail to pay the 10-15k for the spot, and/or the 3-$500 annual fee and some have reported being sued for breach of contract.

There is no free lunch.

That is the old fashioned way. Remember free toasters.

Mr. Wizard, you must have not heard of Outdoor Adventure before. The moral of the story is the "2 of 5" prizes, the "1 in 10" chance for a new truck are all gimmicks to get you into their office so they can sell you a membership. Once they get you in the door they are relentless. I'll bet they have a few thousand "1 in 10" chances to win a new truck.

The real moral to the story is, never fill out a 'chance to win ____' entry blank. They are all 100% sales gimmicks. Unless you truly want the sales pitch, don't bother. Chances are, it's going to cost you more money then them.

X2, DW filled out one at CW. I told her it was a sales gimmick and the calls would start coming. I'm glad I have caller ID.

  • The moral of the story is that they will get more junk mail and phone calls than they knew existed.
  • and the morale of the story ?

the prizes are the memberships you must pay fees on ?
