OVEN VALVE -no parts available

RV repair tells us that this valve (74006333) is the problem with our oven not staying lit and the part is unavailable for the last 10 years, their answer is to replace the range. We want to keep our 4 burner range. We may try another service location to see if we get another answer.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

You might try Bontrager's Surplus Inc. I was just there and have never seen so many parts for rv's in my live. They have pretty much everything. They are located in White Pigeon,MI

Yeah, looks like slim pick'n for this valve. I only found it at A-1 (listed above) and Source-a-Part. I haven't used either of these outfits before.

When the old mercury operated oven control on our previous coach went bad and was no longer available, I found a complete manifold and valve assembly from a newer model on eBay for $40 plus shipping. It was a take off from a shipping damaged new stove, so it was basically brand new. It came complete with the oven burner unit and the existing top burners fit it perfectly. The only modifications I needed to make was to drill a small hole for a self tapping screw to hold a new support leg and cut a small notch in the front panel oven shaft hole to clear a new tab. Oh, and I had to buy a new oven control knob for $5 on eBay to get the correct temperature markings. The other knobs fit fine. They also had the top burners available, but mine were in good shape and had been modified to add electronic ignition.

Mine is an older Atwood/Wedgewood 3 burner also and I hope it keep going for a long time. One thing to watch, think about if you do replace with a brand new is that many of the new ones have no ignitor.

I had the same problem with the valve on my oven. It's true that the part cannot be found. I finally rolled the dice on a used one and got burned (pun intended).

Why are you adverse to a new 3-burner unit? Do you use all 4 burners? I eventually replaced mine with a "scratch-n-dent" (ebay - half the price of a brand new one) Atwood/Wedgewood unit and I love it. The front burner is a "power burner" and gets water boiling fast. Fries stuff up quick too. Much better than the 4 smaller burners IMO. Funny thing is I haven't used the oven yet 😕

Do a Google search for RVDoctor George in Sacramento. They have a huge supply of new and used parts. They have been parting out rv's for years.
