Pleasant surprize

I just spent 2 days at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds RV camp in Raleigh N.C. $25 a night, internet, 24 hr security all amenities and level spot and very convenient. They will see my face in the place again!

There are fairgrounds across the country with RV parks and many with dry camping areas. We've used them. Most are very nice and reasonable and extremely quiet. Always check on scheduled activities going on though. You don't want to try for a site during fair time. :)

    Some are listed in RVparkreviews.com
  • We have even found many free county fair grounds to overnight in. Of course this is only when no functions are being held. Most times there are no hookups.

  • I stayed there years ago- did shows in the big arena (not sure if it's still there). very nice and friendly.
  • I stayed there last year at Christmas while visiting DD and DGD nearby. I don't think there is any size limit, just must be self contained. There are sewer connections, along with water and electric, but no bathhouses.

Planning to stay there again for Christmas this year.
  • Cool. Sounds like a place we'd like to stay. Any limit on size?

Maybe the mods will consider moving this to the "park & campgrounds" forum.
