I've been looking at amazon and found a bunch of them but I'm sure there are some RV'ers that use these type of machines at the CG's.

I googled "apartment washers/dryers" but didn't see any like I used to have. Small electric dryer mounted on a stand and a washer on wheels that stored under the dryer when not in use and rolled to the kitchen sink and attached to the faucet for washing. That way, the wash water and rinse water was pumped into the sink, but it tied up the kitchen faucet.
I continued to use them after I moved into my sticks and bricks with its own laundry room. I eventually replaced them with a regular washer and a dryer that ran on 240V. The apartment W/D ran on a 120V outlet and it took a long time to dry a load.

Thanks, I saw that but I'm not sure how I feel about the manual hand crank. I saw some small machines that weren't priced too much more that were actually electric. Also, the legs on that didn't seem to be stable enough.

When we lived in an apartment we bought a portable washer and a portable dryer. They worked very well - in fact more than 25 years later we still have the dryer in our basement (just in case the house dryer breaks). The washer did not last that long, but it lasted long enough. Both were small units and on wheels. The washer used a hose that connected to the kitchen sink faucet and drained into the kitchen sink(make sure you put a drain screen on that hose). Both plugged into regular house outlets. They were more than enough to wash and dry the weekly laundry for the two of us. And in the winter when the dryer was running you could turn down the thermostat in the room because it gave off plenty of heat.

Well, here is what I was thinking so far.

The reviews of similar dryers are not great so I think I'll be skipping that. I did find a spin dryer with good reviews. You put some clothes in the dryer and it spins them really fast to get more water out of the clothes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GEDBIG/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00

Wow, so far so good. I purchased the three items I linked above and all are doing a fine job. I can wash about 3-4 boxers, 2-3 t shirts and a pair of exercise pants at the same time. I place the washer on my counter next to the sink and use the spray wand to fill it up. Filling the machine with water is the longest part.

Then put some detergent in and set the machine anywhere from 1-15 minutes. The machine then shuts off and then you lower a hose to drain the water. It then requires you to fill the machine with water again to get to rest of the soap out. Then turn the machine on for a few minutes and drain again. This is the same cycle that your normal washer does, you just have to do it manually.

Since there is no spin cycle on the washer, the clothes are absolutely soaked at the end. I take he items out of the washer and give them a quick squeeze over the sink to get some water out. I then place everything in that spin dryer. It only takes a minute or two in the spin dryer for the clothes to come out fairly dry. When the clothes come out of the spin dryer, they are actually dryer then any othes I've ever touched coming out of any washer. I'd love to washer clothes in a regular washer and then toss them into the spin dryer to see if more water comes out.

Lastly, I hang the clothes on a drying rack. I keep my house at 64 and by morning they are completely dry. I have no long term use reviews since I've only don't about 4 loads, but for now the washer and spin dryer are great!

This is the one I'm currently debating, Want to put it in my 5'ver. Had excellent luck with the brand. Looking at only a washer & hanging clothes to dry.

Be careful with portable washing machines. A lot of them are crap. But I found a good one with the help of this review site - they research user reviews in order to see which products seem to be pleasing the most people.

The one I have is great. Many cycles, gets clothes CLEAN and practically dry, but not too dry so there`s no wrinkles.
