This doesn't just apply to this subject, but many others. If something is illegal, will your insurance company cover your losses.
This applies to propane, no-toad brakes, overweight vehicles & improper drivers licence. A conversation with your insurance company might not be a bad idea. I don't think a judge will take into consideration that a conversation on the internet is an excuse. YMMV.

The propane distribution system in our coach operates at about 0.5 psi. The gasoline distribution system operates at about 50 psi. Maybe I should drive with them both shut off? It'd work going down hill anyway... ๐

I think you have a better chance of getting hit by lighting than causing a fire with your propane on. What do the people do who have cars that run on propane, I guess they have to leave theirs on

It is impossible to prove a negative but that is what you are trying to do. I've never seen it happen, therefore it doesn't. I don't know what added risk there is to running with a pressurized system and lit appliances verses a shut off system, and neither do you. I have never told anyone not to use propane while towing but I have told them I don't and why. What surprises me is that when anyone suggests there could be another side to this discussion, they immediately get ganged up on, told they are talking nonsense and being alarmist wimps. So my question is, why so defensive?
Serious question here ------ do you drive a car or truck Powered by GASOLINE ????????
Have you ever started your car NEAR FUEL PUMPS ??????
Have you Ever seen the ARC/SPARK when engaging your starter ????
As a Retired Firefighter --- I know Gasoline Vapors are Present near Gasoline Dispenser Pumps.
And -----you dont DRIVE WITH propane on --- because its "Safer",,????:h
Yes, I don't drive with propane on because it is safer, how much safer, I don't know but neither do you. What's your problem with someone saying they don't drive with propane on and why they don"t? Why do you react so harshly to the suggestion? Why are you so sensitive about it? What nerve does it strike when someone actually says they do something different from you and gives a reason for it?
So Wilber
Why is it when someone dis -Agrees with your opinion, and states FACTS ----YOU GET defensive ?????
Why Are YOU so sensitive
What Nerve does it strike
You seem to be attacking people whos Opinion EXPERIENCE differs from yours?????
Why so defensive ??????
I have almost 30 years in the FIRE SERVICE that PROVES its SAFE to Run propane
I have been to MANY CAR fires at gas stations ---- yet I believe MANY PEOPLE ( including yourself)...drive cars which are PROVEN to explode.
I guess I ( and Thousands) of other RV's must be missing something ?????
So you have never responded to a gas explosion or fire that wouldn't have happened if the supply had been shut off. OK.
