Putting her away for the season

I just got back from the CA desert sore, tired, dirty, with a rig that needs more repairs now. In other words, a great trip!

60 mph winds outside of Ridgecrest broke a slide support before we could get back to camp. My dogs prevented the folks hanging around camp from getting into the trailer to pull the slide in. Stuff happens... We got the slide retracted so I could travel, and that's the way it will stay until I can get her into the shop.

It was an "interesting" drive back north with the heavy wind, but I made it with an overnight at the Walmart in Fallon.

I blew the lines and emptied all of the tanks in Ridgecrest. Tomorrow I run pink through, empty the trailer, clean out the worst of the sand, and tuck her away for the winter.

Seriously, everybody, get a trailer you can basically use with the slides in. Coming back home was the first trip I actually could not extend the slide, and I'm really glad I thought about that when buying the trailer. It was more cramped, sure, but I could still get to everything.
  • Hey we were out there Tuesday-Saturday. The wind picked up Wednesday, which I think was the worst day. Glad you made it back home safe.
  • I was in Ridgecrest Thursday - Sunday. Saturday afternoon the winds got fierce when we were on the way back from the Pinnacles. And those same winds were an issue all the way home.
