You can put whatever you want as an address for the DMV leaving out the PMB part however, when they type up the address for your license, it will come out with the PMB. The address you are using shows up as a commercial mail forwarding address and then gets tagged with the PMB. No way around it.
I have been in Sioux Falls since 2001 and have never had an issue with it. If you are concerned about firearm purchase and being denied, the store is making up their own rules by denying the purchase. The big box stores such as Scheels, Cabelas, and a few others don't know the regulations. Find a small mom and pop shop. Been there, done that.
Take a look at the state and federal regulations concerning firearms purchases. There is nothing in the regulations that state "no sales to anyone with a PMB address".
If this isn't about firearms, forget that part.

Why not leave the "PMB" out of the address then? When the mail gets delivered to the address, they'll know what to do with it - the "PMB" doesn't help them, all they need is the box #.
