Question on buying a TT in Florida

I would like to find out from any one who has bought a new travel trailer in Florida if it is state law that the dealer must allow a PDI.
I was told this by a salesman and that is why they can charge for it.

Truth or false ?

If his lips were moving, he was lying.

Ask him to show you the FS statue. Easy. He will say he doesn’t know it or have it. You will leave. All is good.

And share the dealer’s name so the rest of us is FL can avoid them.
  • What BS ! This is all warranty stuff !!

If you were buying a new Chevy, would you pay the dealer to fix a transmission oil leak ???

  • Tell the salesman that he is a liar and ask to speak to the owner/manager . A PDI is expected but not regulated by law ! Raise hell ! Do not take this BULL .
  • As usual, the salesman told an outright lie in order to get you to pay an exorbitant price a routine process. AS already posted, just tell the salesman you will only pay X for the trailer, and he can charge anything he wants before the bottom line.
  • Normally it is the responsibility of the dealership and they should pay for it, it is already factored in the sales price, they are trying to get more out of you, bigger comision for them, do not fall for that one that is BS.

  • I purchased in Florida and the only concern is how much I wrote the check for. Just tell him that is fine and dandy but you are only paying $X.XX and if he has to pay for it then "HE" can pay for it.
