question on changing how dinette table lowers

Our dinette table is not in a slide but of course over a wheel well. Apex249rbs.

I have seen on the tv show rv on the go or whatever a table that can just be pushed straight down to convert to a bed. Ours has the 2 posts system which works fine. Just thinking the push down system would be a lot more convenient.

2 questions:

What would I call the system to google it?

Anyone converted theirs? expense? time?

Sorry guess that was 4 ??

thanks
  • I had one of those in my last 5W and it worked great. Fold down the table and it can be used out doors. Only issue was shipping was about same cost as the legs.
  • The table in our AF truck camper is the push down style.
While I can't answer your questions on cost/conversion ease,
it is more stable than the post style and incredibly easy to use.
  • Pretty sure I have the same system that Fizz mentioned, and I like how it works, but just a concern with it that you may want to make note of. Just lightly bumping one of the brackets underneath resulted in 3 stitches to my shin and a nice little scar. Mine had two razor sharp edges on two of the brackets (I tested the edges with piece of paper, as well as my shin). I contacted the mfg of my TT since I could not find the name of the table mfg, and suggested they mention the problem to the table mfg. As far as I know they did, and hopefully if it is in fact the same company, the problem has been fixed. I would hate to imagine what would happen if a small child was crawling around underneath the table and bumped his/her head, or even a pet. Just something to watch out for, if it is the same mfg.
