He said free fall was about 125 mph, and it appeared in the video that the wind was going to tear his face off! Helmet was optional, which he said he'd be wearing the next time.Bobbo wrote:MFL wrote:
To folks not familiar with this type of motorcycle, high speed sounds death defying. They do not feel like you are going as fast as you are.
Physics doesn't care how it "feels." You are going as fast as you are, and Darwin's laws apply.
(And, in case you think I am just a "Nancy," I was a skydiver for 9 years in my youth.)
So let me get this straight, going terminal (122mph?) while falling to earth likely wearing no protective stuff other than maybe goggles before you even know if the 'chute will open normally or birds nest, line twist, etc., etc., is sane and reasonable, high speed on a vehicle with steering and brakes while wearing protective gear is not.
Me...top quality Shoei full face helmet, Technics perforated leathers with protective cups, and built in back/collarbone brace, and protective 6" high street racing shoes.
Anyway, lots of ways to get an adrenaline rush, some safer than others. At least not much traffic when skydiving, unless you hit a flock of geese! ;)
