" friction hinge"

Does anyone have friction hinges on their camper?, we traded in our older TT and the new one has these hinges on the entrance door. I think the theory is to prevent the wind from grabbing the door. I think it is a bad thing, I really don't like fighting my camper door. Anyone else like these??

My kids just leave the door open, and let AC out.

Hey! They're doing their part to fight global warming by cooling down your camp site. :)
  • I have it on mine, I don't have a problem with it and I certainly don't have to "fight" it. I push it, it closes. Other than you don't like it, I don't know why it would be a "bad" thing. It's just different.
  • I have it on ours and after nearly a year I don't really mind it. It keeps my kids from slamming the door shut and it is getting easier to close as times goes by.
  • not on a camper but I use them at work (automation design) they are a pain unless they are the adjustable type. if its the adjustable type just back it off until it dosent but you. (there will be a set screw pressing on the barrel if its adjustable)
