  • Grainger has an incredible selection of motors both in store stock and quick special order. Bring in your old motor. They cross references the numbers for you, and take new out of box on counter so u see side by side before u buy.
  • Trackrig, yeah, I'd seen those. This time I decided the higher price / in-stock was more favorable over online order. After all, you don't know WHAT you're getting :)

Next time, situation permitting, I'll take the chance...

Ductape, checked w\ my HVAC buddy first, he was of the opinion a universal type might or might not be an easy install. Passed on that, was not looking for a project, know what I mean :)

Anyway, got the thing in, A/C works, set for Labor Day, which was the goal :)
  • Most ac fan motors can be crossed over to a generic replacement by a supply house that services HVAC contractors. Often under $100.
  • Yeh, for that kinda money you'd think Taiwan, or So. Korea.

    Well, two things:
    1) At least it wasn't India
    2) It'll cure my "Broken A/C Blues"

Time to head for the roof :)
  • Wow! If it was a $20 motor you would expect that.

    But, $200. Wow.
