They are different then the traditional mopar "Hemi".

Think of it as a modernized design. The original Hemi flowed well, but was pretty inefficient by todays standards.

I towed a 12k 5er (37' with 3 slides) with a 2014 Ram 2500 6.4L Hemi/4.10. I was very happy with the performance. 7-9 mpg.

8 speed now available and should help overall towing performance big time. Ford will be a 10 speed. Makes a gasser look more appealing vs diesel.

I suspect my camper is similar to what you are looking at. We have a 2018 Outback 325BH which lists an 8500lb dry weight. I imagine we have at least 1500lb worth of junk in it ;-). I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Crew cab with 6.4L 4:10 rear. I did seek out the 4:10 rear and it tows great. Towed from PA to Maine and PA to FL already and did a great job. I am a bit heavy footed so I only got 7-8 mpg towing but it got us there. With the truck prices continuing to go up, I just cant justify the $10k diesel uncharge any more.

We have pulled a 10,300 lb. fifth wheel several thousand miles, and now tow a 10,000 travel trailer with a 2016 2500 6.4... No problem at all. The miles were in the West, Canada, and Alaska. 8.5 to 9.5 mpg with a 373 rear end.

I tow about 9500# 5th wheel with a 6.4 2500, 4.10 rear getting between 9 & 10mpg.
