Well I don't like being negative, but without the ability to update maps I really don't think I could recommend the Rand McNally RVT80 tablet at this time.
I will say that I like the size of the screen.
If I had to do it over again I would consider getting a GPS dongle to attach to a tablet, and use the Delorme Earthmate app. It's a lot cheaper.
