Question on the ready brake cable install. Made maiden 40 mile run and the black cable guide has rubbed all the sheathing off the cable that connects the actuator arm to the vehicle. It appears to be the top of the cable, so I assume it is scraping when the ready brake engages and pulls the cable slightly upward and towards the motorhome. The cable guide is cut razor sharp. Is it supposed to be this sharp or do I have the cable run improperly? When I measured, the tow bar was level (within two inches). I have about 2.5 inches of play adjusted in the cable.
Thoughts???
This, like mine is due to left and right turns and as an afterthought, I would have ground the guide edges to 45%. One can still dismantle the cable and do this grinding, but I doubt if it's a problem anyway, as the vinyl covering is most likely the only thing that will wear away and certainly not the stainless aircraft cable.
