I have a Ready Brute Elite and I'm very happy with it. I am a little puzzled (sort of) that Motor Home magazine does not even mention ReadyBrute or it's type of brake system in their annual towd issues. Same with most RV dealers. Glad I heard about RB in this forum!

Same here. Being an engineer I like the simplicity of the mechanical setup over fancy electronics. The Ready Brute passes the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) test in my mind.
Part of the reason for the lack of reviews or presence at RV dealers may be the confusion over the legality of surge brakes in all 50 States and Canadian Provinces. There are some interpretations of the law that would seem to prohibit them for dingy towing, but this system has been used for years on boat trailers and rental trailers and they don't seem to run into legal problems. In fact I think the U-Haul car dollys use surge brakes as do some of the higher end car dollys for sale to end users. Good, reliable system.
