Here in PA, in addition to the State Registration Fee a County Tax of $5 is added. Doesn't matter if your trailer weight 100 lbs or 10,000 lbs, you still pay $5. ??????

Here is the current list of counties that are hogs.

I don't think it was necessary for another member to give a rude comment.
Thanks for that - my county is on the list! :M

We have 6 things to register every year - it adds up!

Last time I bought a new truck in Mass, it charged sales tax, THEN another USE tax (not sure if that's the tax label) almost identical to the sales tax. So, a new truck - estimate $50,000 - cost sales tax of roughly $3000 AND the Use tax $3000 in addition to regular registration fees etc. Then, EVERY YEAR thereafter, it charges that same Use tax again, only slightly less each time until the vehicle depreciated over several years and until it at some point becomes stable for every year you own it.

And that was the last time I bought a truck in that state ...

Total BS.

PAs registration fees do not have an "additional county tax" for ALL counties.

YOUR county you are registered in MAY have an additional fee but I can tell you that the county I reside in DOES NOT.

If his county charges $5 and yours doesnโ€™t, wouldnโ€™t that be partial BS? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Several counties in and around Seattle have an added RTA tax in addition to the normal licensing fees. Our RV license was over $1700 for one year when we renewed last week. Approx $1600 was for the Rapid Transit Tax (RTA). Unreasonable tax based on purchase price of the RV. OUCH!!!!!!!! Literally thinking of moving out of the greater Seattle area to where fees, taxes, and cost of living are so much lower.

So those counties just reimposed the excise tax, that sucks!!

GLAD I live in Tennessee. No state income taxes and we have a balanced state budget...with a surplus. Granted we have a high sales tax but I can control what I purchase. 74 bucks for renewal registration for what ever vehicle, and that used to be 25 until 2 years ago.

What county are you registering in?
We aid only 22.00 for the mh or the cars this year.

Your signature says PNW, I read Washington! They lost the excise tax years ago, and have been working on making it up for years.
