Rental RV

I can't help but think of the movie "RV" every time I see a rental going down the road.

Caught a picture of these two parked outside the local recreational shop today.

  • A few friends camping friends of mine rented in CA because of time constraints. We are going to CA but don't have the time to drive there. We didn't want to rent an RV because of the "difficultys" of taking the rv every time we want to sight see or just go some where. Not all RV renters are newbies
  • I watch the movie RV every now and then. I have had a former rental RV for about 4.5 years now. No major issues.
  • Nothing wrong with renting, under certain circumstances.

A couple years age we rented a Class C in Alaska. Flew to Anchorage and got the rental for 10 days. It was the only way we were going to get to experience camping in Alaska at this point in our lives. Loved every minute of it. (Trip report starts here

  • Most of the renters I run into are from Europe. Recently made friends with a nice couple from Holland while camping in Flagstaff. On the downside, at a Utah RV park, the owner told me that foreign renters sometimes are not good campers and cause damage but don't report it. Because of that she writes down their license numbers and takes no cash from them, only credit cards. When the foreign renters cause damage to the power pedestal when they forget to unplug before leaving, for example, she can charge the damage to their credit card.
