We ordered our 5th wheel and eliminated the mattress so we could add our own. Just make sure that your replacement mattress is not so heavy that you cannot lift up your bed. We had to replace our lifts because even though it was a foam mattress, it was pretty darned heavy.

This may or may not be of help but in Detroit (I think it's in Detroit) there is a company "Tri County Matress Factory" as I recall.. They are on Telegraph near McNichols (6 Mile).. but of course you are not going to go there.
Thing is there are many such companies around the country... There may be one like it near you.. Call them, make an appointment, Drive to their lot,, "Set up" (very short set up, just enough to enable them to access the bed) invite one of their people in with his tape measure and note pad.. Then pull the slides back in go inside and choose fabric, firmness, and such
Done that with both my trailers (Save I hauled the matteress to them and let 'em measure it there).
Come back in a few days (When they call) Hand over the dough-ray-me (MOney) and swap mattresses with them. THey can dispose of the old one in most cases.. (or you take it to the disposal center).

This has to be the second most asked question on the forums.
If it is a standard mattress size, go to your favorite local mattress store and start trying them out. Pick the one you like best. Have it delivered and your old one hauled away.
