I was wondering if any of you have ever rolled the awing "shade" up when you retract your awning? Seem like a great idea!?!?!
What's the users guide for the shade say? - pennysmom09ExplorerYes, we roll up our shade with the awning, but only for wind. When we travel, we remove it.

For an automatic awning, perhaps not an issue. For a manual awning, the added thickness changes the location/angle of the little lever that you must change to make it go up or down. Could put it in a very inconvenient location. I tried it with mine and it was more difficult to let the awning back out due to the angle change for that lever. - mgirardoExplorerWe hang lights from our awning with the little hangers that slide into the awning tube and have little S hooks that hang from the hangers. I forgot to remove one of the S hooks and rolled up the awning. The awning did not roll up properly and as Thom02099 mentioned, it did put the lever at an awkward location.

We do the same. - JW_of_Opechee_SExplorerWe have " VISTA Shade" The top 2' section stays in the track and unzip the bottom section in less than 5 seconds in the wind to roll up the awning. We leave it in all the time, even when travelling because it doesn't effect how the awning stores for travel. You order the size you want so that you can have different bottoms if needed.
- TimekingExplorerI too am looking at the Vista Shade for my electric/automatic awning but have a few questions/concerns:
1. Is the zipper something that is going to rust/discolor the underbelly of the awning?
2. Are you saying you a) have an automatic awning and roll the whole 8 ft up with the awning when desired? or b) you have to take off the bottom 6 ft panel and THEN roll it up? - LOFAT36Explorer

. Top part stays on, not the bottom. The zipper is plastic not metal.
