AZ 69 west off I17 at the 262 Exit (Cordes Lakes RD) north of Phoenix looks like a great two separated laned road into Prescott. The roads you want to avoid is 89 and 89A. If you are wanting to go vist Jerome and Sedona then park the big rig and take the Jeep. We always go visit Jerome when we are in that area... Great day and night life haha...
I just ran the AZ69 from the GOOGLE MAP in EARTH MODE a few minutes ago and it looks great.. Zoom on down where can view the two laned highway and walk your way to Prescott... Even can see tractor trailer rigs on 69 heading for Prescott...
Be sure to visit OLD TOWN in Prescott with some of the OLD DAY Bars still running... Some of the rooms are still all shot up just as if it was only yesterday when the saloon's were filled with Cowboys... May have been yesterday haha...
Not sure where you headed to on return but actually 89 north out of Prescott looks good enough to join up with I40... 89 south of Prescott runs into switch backs..
