Hubby thinks that he read an article against not running the rv refrigerator at sub freezing temps. Can anyone help me with this...search reaped nothing. Can our refrigerator be
run when it is in the teens at night for maybe 5 nights while we pack it up? 30's during the day (low).

Hi,

The fridge can freeze up. It can be permanently damaged.

I would run it. If you have a problem, write back.

Perhaps the freezer will freeze, and the refrigerator will not get to the correct temp due to lack of run time. In other words, if the refrigerator normally takes 8 hours of run time on a 70F day, on a 25F day it might only run twice a day for 10 minutes, and not work 'correctly' but will still keep cold.

Sometimes your refrigerator (where the thermostat is located) might reach say 34F and shut off the cooling process before the freezer has had time to reach 0F. So many times people who full time report needing to warm the refrigerator section to keep the frozen stuff cold at 0F. This is normally done by opening the frige several times a day (normal operation) but many do not do this, and cause the problem accidentally.

Don't worry about it to much.
