I blow my lines out with compressed air and only use the pink stuff for P traps.

I can be winterized in under 20 minutes including draining the water heater.

With this method we can use the trailer in minutes in the cold months if needed or wanted without any hassle.

Personally never been a fan of filling my whole camper full of anti freeze.

To answer the question already answered, yes you can mix all the rv anitfreezes.

I used the blow method last year and then left a electric heater turned on inside my Travel Trailer that sets inside a closed shed on my property all winter long. It did work but, I was nervous when it got to -20f.

I did put a quart of pink in the tank to run through the pump though. There is no way to blow out the pump and the lines near it on my TT.
I leave ours outside all winter and don't have any problems.
Good down to -50, Its all in the pink stuff.:B

DW can still taste the antifreeze after running a lot of fresh water through the system!
Drain all and blow and blow, cost savings also as we "Winterize" about four to six times a year as we four season camp.
I have gotten to the point that I only drain and blow if the temp is getting below 28 degrees for more than a couple nights.

Think maybe I'll stick to alcohol...relatively nontoxic ??? No thanks.

Water-propylene glycol mixtures dyed pink to indicate the mixture is relatively nontoxic are sold under the name of RV or marine antifreeze. Propylene glycol is frequently used as a substitute for ethylene glycol in low toxicity, environmentally friendly automotive antifreeze (such as Sierra, Prestone Low Tox, and Texaco PG). It is also used to winterize the plumbing systems in vacant structures.

Propylene glycol is a common food additive used in a wide variety of products as well as many medications, so it's pretty likely you're getting your share of it in your daily diet. And it's rated as "GRAS" (Generally Regarded As Safe) by the US FDA.

I use Prestone RV Antifreeze as it is propylene glycol based, whereas some of the other brands are ethyl alcohol based.

Don't know what affect mixing propylene glycol based type with ethyl alcohol based type would have. Maybe those posting above know.

Yes, you can mix RV antifreezes. You want to use this kind (any brand):

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.
